|Entertainment U. Takes you Behind the Scenes at "RENT"|
|Monday, 15 November 2010 00:00 ||
RENT! It's not at all about paying missed monthly fees (or a year's worth in characters Roger Davis and Mark Cohen's case). Starting November 5, 11th Hour Theatre Company and Drexel Mandell Professionals in Residency Project (MPiRP) conjoined efforts to create their own unique Philly twist on the New York Lower East Side 'Rock Musical' with lyrics and music by Jonathan Larson.
It is great to see the cohesiveness between professionals and students both on stage, but it was an even greater experience to see both cast and crew behind scenes as a reporter for Entertainment University's 'On-Air' Video segment.
Even though it was all hustle and bustle for a quickly approaching Friday show (Michael O'Brien, who plays the role of Roger, was literally having his fake tattoos applied as we spoke), everyone was more than enthusiastic to give their opinions on the production, their adoration for RENT, or a just a quirky shout out.
Kudos to the entire cast and crew of this production of RENT! Drexel students, Philly attendees, and out of city visitors are raving about this piece of live art.
Still haven't gotten into the Seasons of Love? Don't miss out! Shows run on the following dates:
· November 18, 10am and 7pm
· November 19, 8pm
· November 20, 8pm
· November 21, 2pm
Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 to $30 for the general public and $5 for Drexel students, faculty and staff with ID. Limit one $5 ticket per Drexel ID.
